Maintaining and cleaning your faucets

Useful information about maintenance and upkeep

Stainless steel faucets and those with chrome, PVD and varnished surfaces

Faucets will remain in good working order if they are maintained, cleaned and used correctly. Infrequent cleaning can lead to the build-up of tough dirt and potential damage. Our faucets are high-quality products. To ensure they maintain their shine and beauty, take a look at the following useful information for maintaining your faucet:

  • After each use, clean faucets with a damp cloth and dry with a soft, clean cloth
  • Always clean faucets when they are cold
  • Only use cold water and a soft, clean towel to clean the surfaces
  • Rinse away residue from toiletries, soap, shampoo, shower gel etc. straight after use
  • Do not hang cleaning cloths over the faucets
  • Rinse infrequently-used faucets regularly – for at least 30 seconds with warm/hot water on a weekly basis
  • Once a month, turn all mixer valves and levers to a fully clockwise position and leave the water running
  • Clean all thermostats, flow regulators/jets regularly at maximum water flow rate; unscrew them, put them in vinegar or a suitable descaling agent and then rinse thoroughly with cold water
  • Set the maximum warm water temperature to 65°
  • Always spray cleaning products sparingly onto a cloth and use this to clean the faucet
  • Never spray directly onto the faucet, as the spray mist can cause damage
  • Remove light soiling using liquid hand wash, rinse immediately and polish with a clean cotton cloth
  • Use mild, pH neutral cleaning products (pH value 6.5 –7.5)
  • Do not use cleaning products containing hydrochloric acid, formic acid or acetic acid
  • Do not use abrasive cleaning agents
  • Do not use acidic cleaning agents
  • Do not use sharp objects or hard, abrasive sponges
